Wedding FAQ


  • How do I book and what's involved?

    You can send me an email at shannon@digitalninjadesign.com, or call us on 027 2826386 or head to facebook.com/DigitalNinjaDesign/ and have a chat with us there. We will have a chat about what kind of shoot you’d like to book, what’s involved, and decide on a location, time, and date that suits both of us.

  • How many pictures will we receive?

    The number of photographs taken depends on many things - the number of guests, hours of coverage, types of events, hours of dancing, and so forth. Our average for an eight hour day is about 600 images, but those numbers may vary depending on the day itself. If you have questions about image quantity, please get in touch and we'll be happy to answer any questions.

  • How long does it take before we will receive our photos?

    Online galleries are posted within 6-8 weeks of the wedding date. If you need them faster, just let us know.

  • What is your online gallery?

    The online gallery is a private, password protected section on our website where all of your wedding photographs will be placed online for you and your family and friends to view. All you have to do is provide the link to anyone who you want to be able to view the images. You can download all your images direct from the website, and you can begin downloading the second you receive the gallery!

  • Can you hold a date for us?

    We can't "hold" a date without a retainer and a signed contract. We accept bookings on a first come/first served basis.

  • Do you offer discounts for off-season/elopements?

    Discounts are sometimes available and are based on the time of year, schedule and availability. Please feel free to get in touch and we'll see what we can work out for you.

  • Do you enjoy shooting weddings?

    Truth is, we love all kinds of photography, but especially wedding photography. I love being there on that special day with a bride and groom and their family and friends. And frankly weddings are great fun.

  • What type of gear do we use?

    We use top of the line professional Nikon & Canon equipment. Both of us shoot with 2 cameras each to save time changing lenses during the day. We also carry a variety of lighting equipment should the need arise.

  • Do you shoot destination weddings?

    We are located in Wellington, NZ but serve clients all around New Zealand. Destination wedding photography packages are simply our standard wedding photography packages plus the cost of travel and reasonable accommodation incl meals. Email us your destination and wedding details and we will provide you with a quote.

  • Do we get a contract?

    Yes. You will receive a standard photography contract to book our service. We can send out the contract and you just need to send it back signed. As we sometimes have clients from overseas (which makes it a bit harder to meet – but there is always skype ) we also can send you the contract via email and you just need to send us a scan. We keep it simple!

  • What do you enjoy outside of photography?

    We both have many hobbies outside of photography. Shannon loves to play Football and is involved with several Wellington clubs. Mel enjoys crafting and can often be found knitting or playing with our dog.


How to book


If you're planning your wedding during the wedding season (Sept-April) please get in touch as early as possible - our weekends book up quickly. Don't fret though as your date might still be available :)
